I’m John Baines, and I have been there.

As President of HAHN Automation for 14 years, I oversaw double digit annual growth, launched a sales and service subsidiary in Mexico, and established the company as a premier solution partner in the US automotive and medical device markets. I also worked in the Detroit, MI area for Vibracoustic and AirBoss Flexible Products – both automotive suppliers for molded rubber components.

It was overwhelming. I’ll admit it now – I didn’t handle it well.

Then I discovered Vistage, an organization that provides executive coaching in peer groups. The advice, mentoring, and peer support not only helped me transform my business and professional life, it completely transformed me as a person.

In 2018, I exited HAHN, and founded Insight Partners, a management consulting firm based in metro Cincinnati. Today, I’m a Vistage Master Chair leading six peer advisory groups representing over 60 companies in the Cincinnati metro area, serving their CEOs, key executives and emerging leaders.

I’m passionate about helping others succeed, whether they join a Vistage group or not. I serve on the advisory board of several privately-owned companies. I also volunteer my services to nonprofits who are focused on building strong workforce pipelines, cultivating strong competitive communities, and mentoring individuals who need a guide to find a fulfilling career outside of college.
